The Trius PRO-814 is a higher resolution version of the very popular PRO-694 camera with 9.19 megapixels of resolution, featuring an ICX814AL Exview progressive scan CCD sensor ideal for both planetary and deep-sky imaging. The monochrome sensor allows 100% of pixels to be used for better resolution, with the ability to use filters and filter wheels to isolate specific colors and wavelengths for later stacking. The PRO series redesigns electronics for lower read-noise figures and faster downloads, achieving read-noise figures better than CMOS cameras with 16-bit data and significantly better dark-noise thanks to impressive cooling. The camera incorporates a complete powered USB 2.0 hub with three ports capable of delivering up to 200mA each to drive guiding cameras, filter wheels, and focusers.
