The iOptron HEM44A is a lightweight, compact GoTo equatorial mount that needs no cumbersome counterweight or shaft, utilizing strain wave drive technology for the RA movement in tandem with backlash-free DEC worm/belt drive design for unparalleled weight-to-payload efficiency. The included iPolar electronic polar scope utilizes an electronic camera and downloadable Windows software to calculate the true location of the celestial pole and guide you through necessary adjustments for precise alignment. The mount comes with a Go2Nova 8409 hand controller featuring approximately 212,000 objects in its database and a large, 4-line, 21-character backlit screen with nine control speeds. An electronic friction brake with power-down memory allows the mount to safely stop and resume GoTo slews or continue tracking even after abrupt power loss without requiring realignment.
