The Celestron CGEM II is an upgraded heavy-duty computerized go-to German equatorial mount designed for serious astrophotographers and visual observers. With a 40 lbs payload capacity and dual-fit Vixen/CG-5 and Losmandy/CGE dovetail saddle, it accommodates everything from small refractors to large 11-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. Low cog DC Servo motors with integrated optical encoders offer smooth, quiet operation and the mount is able to track past the meridian allowing seamless imaging. The CGEM II mount has a robust database with over 40,000 objects, 100 user defined programmable objects and enhanced information on over 200 objects, while Permanent Periodic Error Correction (PEC) allows users to train out the worm gears periodic errors, while the mount retains the PEC recordings.
