The QHY 174GPS is a cooled monochrome CMOS astrophotography camera featuring a Sony IMX174 global shutter sensor optimized for planetary, lunar, solar, and time-domain scientific imaging including occultations, eclipses, and meteor capture. Equipped with a built-in GPS module that syncs with atomic clock signals, it records exposure start and end times with microsecond precision, making it ideal for multi-site coordinated observations worldwide. Dual-stage thermoelectric cooling reduces sensor temperature to 45°C below ambient, while the sealed chamber with heated optical window prevents dew formation for clean, noise-free images during extended exposures.
