The Advanced VX 8" Newtonian is an excellent entry- to mid-level setup that offers excellent optical performance through its Newtonian design with a parabolic primary mirror that minimizes spherical aberration to produce sharp images at the edge of the field of view. With its fast f/5 focal ratio and 1000mm focal length, this wide-field reflector delivers extra-bright views for deep space observing and high-contrast performance for solar system targets. The Advanced VX computerized equatorial mount was specifically designed for optimal imaging performance, featuring permanent periodic error correction (PPEC) and the ability to image across the meridian without a meridian flip.
