The ZWO ASI990MM Pro is a scientific-grade, cooled shortwave infrared (SWIR) monochrome camera built on Sony's IMX990 InGaAs sensor, designed for advanced deep-sky imaging and specialized astrophotography. With 1.3MP resolution, 5-micron pixels, and sensitivity spanning 0.4-1.7 micrometers, it enables imaging through light pollution, thin clouds, and even daytime conditions by capturing wavelengths invisible to conventional cameras. Featuring dual-stage TEC cooling that reduces sensor temperature up to 35°C below ambient, ultra-low read noise (~21 electrons), 80% peak quantum efficiency at 1200nm, and zero amp-glow circuitry, the camera delivers exceptionally clean data for long-exposure scientific imaging, photometric measurements, optical communication, and specialized research applications.
