The SBIG STF-8050M is a high-quality monochrome CCD camera featuring 8.1 megapixels with 5.5 micron pixels for exceptional image detail. Its monochrome sensor ensures superior contrast and precision with very low read noise of only 9 electrons, while the electronic shutter enables fast exposure times ranging from 0.001 seconds to 3600 seconds. The camera features robust cooling with a delta greater than -50 degrees Celsius, achieved through a heat sink working in unison with an inbuilt fan. The bundle includes the FW5-8300 filter wheel with five 36mm filter positions that adds only 20mm of backfocus, making this system an excellent choice for solar, lunar, and planetary imaging as well as deep space work with a filter wheel.
