The QHY163M is a 16-megapixel cooled CMOS camera featuring a 4/3" monochrome sensor with 3.8 micron pixels arranged in a 4656x3522 array, delivering exceptionally low readout noise of 1 electron and a full well depth of 18-20 ke−. The two-stage TEC cooling system cools the sensor as much as 45°C below ambient, ideal for warm summer observing conditions, while the camera achieves 22.5 frames per second at full resolution and supports 4K video output at 30fps. The camera includes anti-amplifier glow reduction circuitry, especially valuable for long-exposure deep-sky imaging at high gain, and its low read noise makes it ideal for use with narrowband filters.
