AR127 Air-Spaced Doublet

The AR127 is a 127mm (5-inch) aperture telescope that reveals stunning, sharp images at a fraction of the cost of comparable apochromatic refractors. Designed to produce superior-class optical figure in a short (f/6.5) focal length design, this classic air-spaced, crown-and-flint, doublet achromatic refractor provides stunning crisp views of the night sky. Built to handle the rigors of public star parties and educational outreach, it comes with heavy-duty components including a 2" dual-speed focuser, a one-piece 2" diagonal with 99% dielectric coatings, and an 8x50 straight-through finderscope. Its diffraction-limited optics are well-suited to serious deep space observing of binary stars, star clusters, and brighter nebulae and galaxies, in addition to excellent high-contrast planetary and lunar images.
