The Askar 185 APO is a large aperture triplet air-spaced apochromatic refractor with 185mm aperture, 1295mm focal length, and f/7 native focal ratio, featuring one element of ED glass for superior chromatic aberration correction. This configuration provides excellent light gathering power, resolution, brightness, and contrast, reaching a limiting magnitude of 13.1. Its retractable lens tube design allows a compact length of 1081mm when contracted, with a net weight of 14.9kg, making it surprisingly portable for visual observation and astrophotography. The telescope features a dual-speed rack and pinion 3.5" focuser with high precision 10cm focusing travel, and optional 1x flattener and 0.8x reducer accessories are available, both equipped with built-in 2" filter threads and M68/M54/M48 adapters.
