The Sky-Watcher Starlux 190mm Maksutov-Newtonian features a 190mm working aperture with a 1000mm focal length and f/5.3 focal ratio, delivering large aperture apochromatic performance with exceptional field correction. This virtually perfect Maksutov-Newtonian optical design addresses all major optical issues without requiring a coma corrector or field flattener, delivering a perfectly flat field and pinpoint stars across the entire field of view. Compared to a similarly sized Schmidt-Newtonian, the Mak-Newtonian yields a sharper image with more contrast. The fast f/5.3 focal ratio makes this an excellent wide field photographic instrument for deep sky imaging.
