The Sky-Watcher 12" Flextube Dobsonian is a user-friendly telescope for the serious amateur who wants serious deep-sky light-gathering, combining the proven economy of the Dobsonian design with exceptional convenience and portability of the unique telescoping truss-tube system. The optical tube uses a parabolic primary mirror constructed of borosilicate and coated with proprietary Radiant Aluminum Quartz (RAQ), producing 94% reflectivity and collecting 1840 times more light than the human eye. The patented truss design allows it to retract to just 36 inches for easier transport and storage, and then extends to 55 inches for observation. This simple yet effective design is perfect for visual observation of faint objects, such as nebulae, star clusters, and galaxies.
