8" LX85 ACF OTA

The Meade 8" f/10 LX85 ACF optical tube assembly offers large aperture in a very compact form, featuring an Advanced Coma-Free (ACF) optical system with Ultra-High Transmission Coatings (UHTC), an oversized low-expansion Borosilicate primary mirror, and a Schott Borofloat glass corrector plate. ACF optics achieve aplanatic performance with a flatter field, reduced astigmatism and no diffraction spikes. Designed to be portable and lightweight, the OTA includes a Vixen-style dovetail bar for attachment to any Vixen compatible mount. This telescope utilizes Meade's Advanced Coma-Free catadioptric light path to reduce color fringing and off-axis comas, enabling it to clearly resolve dim deep-sky objects and easily split binary stars with tack-sharp clarity.
