The Celestron EdgeHD 14" is the largest optical tube in Celestron's aplanatic flat-field Schmidt-Cassegrain line, designed specifically for high-resolution astrophotography and visual observation. Featuring a 3910mm focal length at f/11 with proprietary StarBright XLT coatings delivering 97.4% light transmission, this scope produces aberration-free images across a flat focal plane all the way to the edges of large-format imaging sensors. The versatile optical design accommodates three focal ratios (native f/11, f/7 with focal reducer, or ultra-fast f/2 with Fastar accessory) and includes mechanical refinements such as flexible mirror clutches to minimize image shift during long exposures, along with ventilated cooling systems for thermal stability.
