The Celestron CGX-L is a computerized German equatorial mount engineered for serious astrophotographers and observatory use, featuring a robust 75-pound payload capacity with an exceptional load-to-weight ratio. Equipped with 144mm diameter brass worm wheels, a precision belt-drive system, and advanced PWI telescope control software co-developed with PlaneWave Instruments, the CGX-L delivers smooth tracking and minimal backlash for extended deep-sky exposures. This mount-head-only configuration supports both Vixen and Losmandy dovetail standards, includes a 270mm dovetail saddle for stability, home and limit sensors for remote operation, and all the features needed for high-precision astrophotography of large optical tubes up to 14 inches in aperture.
