The Baader AstroSolar PHOTO Film 8"x10" (20x30cm) with optical density 3.8 is a precision solar imaging filter designed exclusively for digital astrophotography of the Sun using high magnification techniques like lucky imaging. This specialized film is engineered for experienced astrophotographers capturing detailed solar surface features with fast digital video cameras mounted to astronomical telescopes, enabling ultrashort exposure times to freeze atmospheric turbulence. The film features diffraction-limited optical properties and achieves Strehl ratios of 94-96% in interferometric testing, providing optical performance comparable to high-quality glass filters. Important note: this film is strictly for photographic use only and is not suitable for visual solar observation.
