This absorptive filter allows infrared light with wavelengths of more than 850nm to pass through, making it ideal for planetary astrophotography with monochrome cameras. By transmitting deep infrared light and blocking visible wavelengths, it excels in cutting through atmospheric turbulence, especially during daylight or twilight imaging, offering sharper results when imaging bright planets and the Moon. At long-wavelength spectral ranges, atmospheric turbulence has much lower impact on image sharpness, resulting in the clearest and highest contrast planetary images possible. It complements the Antlia IR Pass 685nm filter for comprehensive infrared planetary imaging.
