The IRDK14 is a 14-inch infrared-optimized optical tube designed for research applications where on-axis performance is crucial. This Dall-Kirkham optical design uses only reflective fused silica mirrors with protected gold coatings delivering better than 98% reflectivity from 0.65 to 5 microns, making it ideal for infrared astronomy and LIDAR applications. The carbon fiber construction provides durability and stability with minimal thermal expansion, ensuring consistent performance under various environmental conditions suitable for intensive scientific applications. Built-in dew prevention with polyimide film heater pads and temperature sensors, plus three cooling fans, help achieve rapid thermal equilibrium to minimize image distortion.
